Attie Bogaards by die volgende skakel.

Ons gaan net by enkele temas opmerkings maak.

2. The Psalm Project

“Have you ever longed to sing the Psalms, to join with the Psalmist in expressing the awe, majesty, grace and forgiveness of God?

God’s Word encourages us to sing Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual Songs in Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16, where the references seem to be taken from the headings given to the 150 Psalms in the Greek Septuagint translation of the Old Testament widely used in Paul’s time. But how many of us know how to sing the Hymnbook of the Bible, the Psalms?

The 16th century Reformer John Calvin once wrote of the Psalms: “This book I am wont to style an anatomy of all parts of the soul; for no one will discover in himself a single feeling whereof the image is not reflected in this mirror. Nay, all griefs, sorrows, fears, doubts, hopes, cares, anxieties – in short, all those tumultuous agitations wherewith the minds of men are wont to be tossed – the Holy Ghost hath here represented to the life.”

Project Psalms will introduce the Psalms into your personal, family and Public worship with a clear, easy to follow, soul touching voice.

While acknowledging our dependence upon the providence of God, we are conscientiously working towards completing this project by the end of 2011.”

3. Truth Exchange

“Melanie Phillips, a journalist for the Daily Mail in the UK, who began her career on the left of the political spectrum, but who now defines herself as a liberal who has “been mugged by reality,” writes with great insight into the failure of the social theories of modern liberalism. I am posting this because this sociological and cultural analysis, by obvious implication, touches many of religious themes to be found in a Oneist, pagan worldview. Believing the Lie, and with no sense of the Truth, people and cultures end up lying and cheating and stealing without any sense of guilt. Though Oneism is driven by optimistic hopes of utopia, in fact the reality of Oneism, when applied in a consistent way, and far beyond what we now see in modern liberal societies, could well end up as a human nightmare.”

4. Dag Vreemdeling

  1. Hallo Slabbert.

Dankie vir die verwysing. En ja, dit mag so wees. Verbondsliedere is kragtig. Groete!
